Design Approach Statement
Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night depicts a society where societal order is out of place. It explores the effects of the mask of deception that you present to the world and the consequences and hijinks that occur due to that masking. To express the themes of disguise and deception, I think the world should feel veiled and layered. I like the idea that the world of the play feels layered and draped with deception and that as the action of the play gets unmasked, so does the scenery.
